Peg and I caught the shuttle downtown in the afternoon.
All I'm going to say is we did a good job of crossing a lot of those 2,500 bars off our list. There are a lot of great places with fabulous bands and singers in this town and if you like country music Nashville is a must.
We got back early this morning and will be doing diddly squat today.

More Nashville
We whipped downtown again, this time for culture not just drinking and having a good time.
The first exciting thing that happened was when I went to take my first picture my battery died so no dam pictures for the day.

The Famous Ryman auditorium where the Grande Ole Opry used to be.
The Country Music Hall of Fame
Very interesting stuff
Then we had a late lunch or maybe it was a early dinner and scurried to the other side of town.
Ok,now it's time for drinking and having a good time.
The Bluebird Cafe
If you watch the show Nashville you will know this place.
It's a hole in the wall where a lot of famous artists got their start
We lined up for 45 minutes on the street waiting to get into open mike night and we just made it.Many manny did not get in.
What happens is about 37 artists got to sing one song that they wrote.
It was a great time and the beverages kept a coming.
(Rod was driving and he doesn't drink)
Rod and Kathy did not eat all the pie from yesterday so we had desert when we got home.

Franklin
We met up with Bill and Christy, some friends of Rod and Kathy's and headed out to Franklin Tennessee to the Carnton Plantation.
We took a guided tour through the house but we do not have any pictures of the inside of the house as they would not let us take any.
(Click on above for details)
A very interesting story that involved so many and non of us had ever heard of the battle of Franklin.
This is the house that the slaves lived in before the war.
This is the last of them in front of their home.
Next thing you know it's time to eat
If you google "world famous biscuits" the Loveless Cafe comes up.
So that's where we went for dinner
Excellent
That's a Rhubarb and Strawberry Pie in that bag that Kathy has.Peggy has the leftover biscuits.
We are stuffed now but by the time we get home with a stop for ice cream we should have room for pie.

The Performance
We have plans to go out for a nice dinner at the Opry Back Stage Grill, which is not located at the Opry.
but first we are going to the Opry to pick up our tickets so someone suggests we just go to the Opry Mills Mall cause it is close to the Opry and they have a lot of nice restaurants.OK.
After aimlessly wandering the mall forever we discover that the wait is too long everywhere and it's too late to go back to the grill soooooo!
Yup! Subway it is for our nice dinner out
Whooppeeeeee!
Now it's off to The Grande Ole Opry House
We had great seats on the floor in the middle section in front of the action.
No matter who performs at The Grande Ole Opry House tickets range from $34.00 to $55.00 Max
What a Country
The warm up comedian was the new Miss Minnie Pearl cause the old one died.
Then it was a quick intro by Carrie.
Followed by Little Jimmy Dickens
Little Jimmy is funny but at 91 he should hang up his guitar.
Speaking of old---
Jean Sheppard,Riders in the Sky and Connie Smith should also hang it up.
I know they were great but you just can't keep going forever.
Canaan Smith was not too old at all.
Neither was Jimmy Wayne
Alison Krauss sang.
The Charlie Daniels Band was my favorite.
Then Vince Gill topped it off.
They ended with a tribute to a dead writer and it was over
Enjoyed it very much
After we got home
Chastity said piss on it and we called it a night

A change in the weather
From hot as hell to cold as hell, that's our weather it went from a high of 83/28 to 55/13 in one day.I guess winter has arrived here so we should mosey on soon.
Rod Peg and I went for a stroll through the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.Quite the place.
Rod Peg and I went for a stroll through the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.Quite the place.
We stopped for lunch while killing time waiting for our tour.
Yes we are taking a back stage tour of the Grand Ole Opry
We started out front.
I don't know where else you would start.
We being the artists that we aren't entered through the Artists entrance
It was an interesting tour as we saw all the dressing rooms and the green room along with the television studio.Learned a lot of history of the Opry
It ended with us on the stage standing on the Famous Chunk of wood where all the stars have performed.
I'm sure we will not get an invite back to sing again.
Later after we tucked in the old folks Peg and I headed for The Music Valley Bar and Grill
It should be called Smoker's Paradise
The music was good but the smoke was atrocious
We had 1 round of drinks for $11.00 and headed to Logan's
Here it was $4.99 for a round and the best wings I have ever had.

Company
So here we are sitting in the campground and who is parked right across from us.
Laverne and Bob
They are from St.Albert and for those of you that don't know-So are we.
We have never met before but we have now.
Great people in this small world of ours.
And guess who pulled in two spots down?
Rod and Kathy!
Peg's Older Brother(much older)
So it was off downtown we go.
Kathy and Peg met a new friend. which we took to lunch at Margaritaville .
Kathy being allergic to the sun had to cover up so Peg and I just headed for the bars.
Great name for a Karaoke bar.
Famous
We of course ended up back at Tootsies where this 16 year old chick could really belt out some tunes.
Probably Nashvilles most famous bar.
Dirty Dick's is a blast and back at The Honky Tonk things were jumpin.
We just love this live music and the performers are fantastic.
Of course you should like it when a beer and a vodka costs $11.75 plus tip to the waitress and a tip for the band.
This must be the best place to own a popular bar.I don't know how they get away with it but they do not have to pay the wait staff minimum wage. They only get $2.13 an hour plus tips of course and the entertainment also just works for tips.So there is pretty good money in a shot of cheap vodka for $7.00
But it is fun!
PS that's not Kathy in the mask

More Nashville
Just more Nashville
I've been a looking for Daisy Duke and them cut off jeans but no luck
Yup that what is says
Restaurant located next door to the campground.
And what about this.Lease the rims to put on your leased vehicle.
I wonder if you can lease the gas to burn in it.
On a different note:
We spotted this Military Cemetery.
Like a mini Arlington.Quite the sight those thousands of head stones all in a row.
