Today is the day

ALMOST

Yup!  It's almost time to head out for Europe

It's Sunday and we are leaving about 10:30 pm tomorrow

We spent some time in St Albert with the kids the last few days before heading up to the River

Beth went to soccer

Alex went to MMA

That's Mixed Martial Arts

He gets a good work out

Beth also did dance

Then we headed for the River

Where the deer were playing

Or maybe they were just having a drink.

We will be leaving the coach parked here by the deck while we are gone

Belated

Beth went to a Girl Guide Rally or something and Alex and I went to MMA(mixed martial arts)
Fortunately Alex had to do all the stuff and I just got to watch otherwise I would be dead.

Then we had a little party for Olivia

We celebrated her 5th birthday.

It wasn't really her birthday but she had it when we were away so we thought she had better have another one.

The cake was good

There were presents

And of course the most fun is the packaging

And she got to play some while her father.......................

Had a little nap

We had Taco's for dinner and it was a great visit.

Soon we will be gone again

Off spending their inheritance

Oh Well-Bob's your uncle!

Sittin

The kids went to Vegas so we are a sittin.

We moved into their house for the week while they are gone

Other than that mothers day is a coming

Just Hanging

We are just hanging about waiting.
Waiting to get all our shit done before we go to Europe
Waiting to look after the kids while the older kids go to Vegas
Waiting to go to Europe on May 29th

So we went over to JP and Wendy's yesterday after Beth won High Gold at a dance thing.

The women were making dinner.Wendy was of course avoiding the camera.

And so was Jill

It was a beautiful day and some of us got the most out of it.

Including the mutts

We had a great visit with BBQ'd Ribs to top it off

St Albert

So we are in St albert and the weather is getting better every day.

We went shopping.
It seems that wherever  we are we go shopping
Sticker shock is here!
Got the car washed for $40. plus today.Same wash I got in Mexico for about $5.
Got 24 beers for $43.00.Same beer in US about $15.
Filled up with gas,same shit costs less in US and it's our oil.
I could go on but I will shut up now.

I know! We have free health care?????

I did buy a camera and it was only $50 more than in the US.It's a bridge camera(It only takes pictures of bridges).It should be good for our Europe trip cause I won't have to carry around a bunch of lenses.

Jeff (my oldest) came by and hung out with us for a bit.

He just had a knee operation and is on crutches.Also his mom is in town looking after him for a few days.

It was Friday so Jeff came with us and we went to visit our friends the Kimballs for refreshments.

And Bob's your uncle.

We Be Back

                                   As we head for the border and I look over,What do I see?

                                                           Yup! She's sleeping again.

After some poking and prodding I get her up so she can get our shit ready for the customs dude or dudett.We do declare everything.We have spent just under $3,000 and we have 70 liters of wine.

We have to pay the 5% GST on everything above our limit of $1,600.00

Somehow they only charged us $41.00 approx

Then,of course there is the wine? 70 liters.

This is always an unknown,cause it never is what they say it will be when you phone.

It always seems to be lower.

And it was.

We paid $2.22 per liter for the wine

The border charged us $2.36 per liter

Total cost per liter $4.38

Cost per liter here in Canada Just over $11.00

WHAT A COUNTRY

So we are here for the next couple of days before we head farther north.

PS- I liked the 102F/39C  in Vegas the day we left,better than this crap.

But they say it's getting warmer and Christmas is coming.

Snow

The day started off well,a little cold but the sun was shinning.

As I drive and drive I look over at my Co-pilot to get directions and what do I find?

She is sound asleep.

What a country?

We head up the monster hill at Butte Montana and what greets us? A snow storm,how lovely!
We did make it as far as Great Falls where we are spending the night in the deep freeze with the Eskimo's.
Just great

WE LEFT

We left Vegas before the crack of noon.

It was 11:50

We drove a few feet out on to the highway when I realized the new pump we had installed at Camping World was not working.So I fired up the car and left it running,no way I was heading south back to CW south of Vegas, so we headed north to CW in St George Utah.

They were useless.First of all he said he didn't know anything about the pumps and he could not get me in till Thursday.I told him I had called the manufacturer of the pump and it would be easy to resolve.No way,thanks for the great service.
Spent the night there and watched the race I had taped from Sat night.

Called CW in Draper Utah.He said bring it in and he will look at it.Arrived there after 3pm and he pulled a tech off another job and fixed it.A wire had fallen of the pressure release valve which was hid under the air filter holder.No Charge.Great people,great service.Awesome

We are spending the night here in Draper.

Last Day

It was our last day in Vegas

We went to see Ron White

Great show.

Got home at 2am again

This town is hard on old folks

I need a rest

Just a thought!

As I was lying in bed pondering the problems of the world,  I rapidly realized that I don't really give a rat's hiney.  It's the tortoise life for me!

1. If walking is good for your health, the postman would be immortal.

2. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water, and is fat.

3. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years.

4. A tortoise doesn't run and does nothing, yet it lives for 450 years.

And you tell me to exercise?? I don't think so.

I'm retired. Go around me.

                                               In the mean time we are still enjoying Vegas

Wednesday

Camping World called and said the car was ready

The car was ready but the bill took another hour of waiting

Just under $500 bucks to get it fixed under warranty and 9 days of waiting

I guess I'm just another happy camper.

Tuesday

Eight days ago I took the car to Camping World to get a replacement pump for the transmission so we can tow it behind the coach.
It's under warranty and the manufacturer told me it was covered.
I agreed to pay extra to have it overnighted as we would be leaving town in a couple of days
Camping world called today as they finally have an opening in the service dept.
Sure glad I paid to have the parts overnighted
We dropped the car off and I guess we wait to see when they call.
Chris loaned me his truck so we have transportation

After dropping the car off it was shop shop shop
We do love these outlet malls

Out to dinner and then off to see Terry Fator

WOW! Just a fantastic show.Well worth the money even if we had of paid.
Terry is a singer who does impressions and comedy with puppets.
He won Americas Got Talent a few years back.
Highly recommend if your in Vegas.

ANOTHER GOOD BYE

Chris left for the frozen north this morning.He will be back in 9 days but we will be gone.

At the crack of noon we went shopping.Shop,shop,shop

Our first stop was the Mirage where we picked our tickets for Terry Fader on Tues night.Peg actually won enough points playing some game on face book to get free tickets,and they are good seats

While we were standing in the line we noticed that Ron White would be performing there on Saturday night so we bought tickets to his show also.

We did a Costco Run and a Walmart shop and that was enough for the day.

Home to relax and BBQ up a couple of them there steaks we bought earlier.

The Weekend

Saturday was a quiet day just relaxing.I have really had too many late nights for my age

                                        Chris's friend Kira dropped by for a visit in the afternoon

We just hung out in the sun and took it easy.

They took off and Peg and I BBQ'd and watched the race.

Then we moseyed on over to the sluts who were not kind to us.We then tried the tables but it was not our day.
